Water Proofing and Repellents:

Sealant failure can accelerate the deterioration of masonry units.

We use specified water repellents to prevent excessive moisture absorption and discoloration of the masonry from environmental contaminants.  The use of water repellents helps to prolong the satisfactory performance of masonry wall systems. The reduction in water absorption provided by water repellent treatments maximize moisture resistance, reduction in efflorescence potential, reduction in algae and vegetative growth build up on masonry during exposure to rain, reduction in absorption of rain borne contaminants, and reduction in staining of masonry.

Efflorescence is the white film on the face of masonry, which results from excessive moisture or rainwater being absorbed into walls. As the moisture evaporates the salts within the masonry are deposited on the wall face.
